Liposuction
Liposuction is a surgical procedure that aims to remove localized fat deposits that are resistant to diet and exercise. This technique is not a weight loss method, but rather a body contouring method, and is ideal for patients close to their ideal weight who have fat accumulations in specific areas.
▲ Commonly treated areas:
Abdomen and waist
Flanks ("love handles")
Inner and outer thighs
Arms
Back
Double chin and submental region
Chest region (especially in men with gynecomastia)
▲ Pre- and post-operative process:
Pre-operative: Includes complete medical evaluation, laboratory tests, discontinuation of medications that affect blood clotting, and detailed planning of the areas to be treated.
Post-operative: Involves the use of compression garments for 4-6 weeks, lymphatic drainage after 7-10 days, and gradual return to physical activities after 30 days.
▲ Results and limitations:
Results begin to become visible after the initial swelling has reduced (2-3 weeks) and continue to improve for up to 6 months. It is important to note that liposuction does not treat significant skin sagging, and is best indicated for patients with good skin elasticity.
