Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty, also known as "abdominal repair surgery" or "tummy tuck", is a complex surgical procedure designed to reshape the abdominal region by removing excess skin and fat, as well as correcting weakened or separated abdominal muscles.
▲ Main indications:
After pregnancy (especially multiple) that caused muscle distension (diastasis)
After major weight loss with consequent abdominal sagging
Abdominal sagging related to aging
Correction of associated umbilical or incisional hernias
▲ Types of abdominoplasty:
Full abdominoplasty: A more comprehensive approach that treats the entire abdomen, from the pubis to the sternum, including umbilical repositioning.
Mini-abdominoplasty: Treats only the region below the navel, with a smaller incision and without umbilical repositioning.
Anchor abdominoplasty: Used for patients after major weight loss, with an additional vertical incision.
Reverse abdominoplasty: Focuses on treating the upper region of the abdomen, with a submammary incision.
Circumferential abdominoplasty: Combines traditional abdominoplasty with thigh and buttock lift.
▲ Recovery and care:
Semi-flexed position for 1-2 weeks to reduce tension on the suture
Use of compression garment for 6-8 weeks
Restriction of physical activities for 6-12 weeks
Scar care for 12 months (silicone, sun protection)
Final results visible after 6-12 months when all residual edema disappears
